Doreen Abegg's artist statement: My collection of recent work is a series of colorful impressionistic oil paintings of California landscapes. Many of these paintings were painted on location and directly from nature. The joy I experience in creating a painting comes from the wealth of subject matter I have been exposed to growing up in Southern California. Dazzling sunlight, often tempered by ocean mist, illuminates our landscapes with colors like no other place in the world. It's very exciting for me to capture and express these colors and moods on canvas.
