Born in São Paulo, Brazil, in 1959, Marília Inke had her first contact with art with oil painting still as a teenager. After attending some artist's studios near home, her work now turns to acrylic painting over handcrafted paper made of fiber of banana trees. Main themes are plants and the hystorical town of Paraty, where she's been living since 2004, after a long term residence in the mountains of the Mantiqueira Sierra.
