Y. Donna Randall has been involved in drawing and creating art since her youth in southern Ontario. In the early 70's, she attended the University of Toronto obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree. Moving to Ottawa in 1977, she discovered figurative sculpture, through wood carving while studying with master carvers. Her love of carving and drawing the human figure came from this influence. Since then she has expanded into clay sculpting and then more seriously into painting with watercolour, acrylic and mixed media. In 1997 Donna became a full-time artist. She has studied at the Ottawa School of Art, Algonquin College and with various outstanding Canadian artists, most notably Ghita Caisserman-Roth who won the Governor General medal for Painting and Drawing in 2000.
