Luann began her fabric art by making traditional pieced quilts. Soon she felt confined by the piecing method. Exploring a new fiber collage construction technique soon allowed her to have more freedom and exuberance in her work. Pieces and strips of antique, vintage and recycled clothing are torn, shredded, painted, overdyed and layered to create the look of ancient textiles fragments. These are then embellished with her own handmade faux bone and ivory artifacts, created to resemble prehistoric tools and ornaments.
