Zehava Power was born and raised in Israel, and moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada in 1986. Zehava is a self-taught artist, and has been painting for about 24 years. Inspiration comes from people and scenery that surround her. She is interested in scenes that bring out the beauty and esthetics of the otherwise mundane. She strives to capture and communicate that sense of joy to her viewers through her trademark flamboyant use of color and loose painting style. Zehava also paints murals, and teaches art to all ages.
