My neighborhood provides a rich context for my artistic process, and provides the details to illustrate certain truths I hold about humanity and community: that most of what we look for is close to home.

Each creative project begins through Noticing; something nearby, even familiar, catches my attention and through the processes of painting and drawing, the significance of what called out to me is revealed.

While content can be mined through the process, truly, I love paint. The challenge of reproduction and of time spent lost and found in the visceral world of materials; it is where the beauty lies.
