I've loved to draw or paint as far back as I can remember. Unfortunately, I disappointed my father and turned down his plans for my receiving formal art training and instead enlisted in the Marine Corps. While there, I served for several years as a combat illustrator and it was then I believe the artist in me was born. Ever since then, I attempt to absorb more and more in the wonderful world of art. Although I have had some private training at times, I'm primarily self-taught. I work in a rather realistic manner admiring the techniques and methods of the old masters and classical realism. I am particularly fascinated with the work of Vermeer and Waterhouse.
