Wendy Persch's artist statement: I started painting non-representational work for the freedom it offers me. I never quite know what the paintings are going to be. I start and the painting itself lets me know what is next. It is a liberating experience to be in the moment and intuitively paint. Two years ago I began painting horses in my own style.
