Currier's artist statement: Having dedicated myself to first drawing and now painting portraits since high school, living in Miami Beach, Florida has “brought out the color” in me and my artwork. A smile, a look, a mood expressed, or perhaps just the way the wind moves the hair in a photo make me anxious to pick up my brush and immerse myself in the creative process of giving the image a different lease on canvas—sometimes with more vibrant colors or textures and designs, at other times pulling in for a close-up. |
