Steve Engle's artist statement: I was born and raised in Hawaii and traveled throughout the South Pacific at an early age which has had a major influence on my drawings and sculptures along with that of the German Expressionists. I use the figure in my art as an emotional vehicle upon which I strive to achieve an agitated power by distorting the invented forms and shapes.
