 Ballantynes close David Owen-Dudley Online Art Listing David Owen-Dudley artist statement:My chosen medium is oils on canvas board. The versatility of application, the richness of the colours, with so many ways to apply this medium, how can anybody not enjoy using oils? My subjects are taken from everyday life, the good and bad. All my art is a personal achievement, being an artist comes from within by releasing my thoughts and feelings. I am mainly self-taught, adjusting any lessons to fit my own particular style. In my early years, three of my oil paintings were hung at junior art exhibitions in Manchester, London and Paris. I paint my subjects with the aim initially of pleasing myself. As an artist I take my art seriously, each piece given serious consideration before starting work, it's the passion of creating something new - something from the heart! They say true artists don't care if anyone else thinks they are good or bad, although I’m an artist for the pleasure of creating, I am concerned with what people think of my work. | ||||||
