Ron Arthaud is a classically trained realist painter who now paints en plein air around his home in Tuscarora, Nevada. Ronʼs works represent quintessential rural Nevada: vast mountain views with expansive skies, remnants of a mining town, scenes from local ranches and forgotten homesteads lost in the sagebrush. All paintings are oil on linen from a limited palette of primary colors. Working a large scale on location allows Ron to depict a specific moment in time and capture in paint the distinct qualities of the early morning and early evening light that are unique to the rural Nevada landscape.
