Elena Petrova's artist statement: I am a believer.

I believe in harmony and love, parenthood and friendship, kindness and honesty… My paintings are an attempt to show you life the way I see it: vibrant, joyful, bold and magnificent...

I like to play with information I give to the viewer and flirt with colors, leaving the realistic information of the subject behind the canvas and provoke the viewer to find his/her own interpretation of the scene.

I paint vigorously and happily, always leaving on the canvas my personal aura and an abundance of joy and positive energy.

I am currently working with oil using painting/palette knives, which allows me to work fast and spontaneously. I also work with encaustic and other media, always feeling that my discovery-journey of new media, subjects and myself is far from the end…
