Diane Olsen Online Art Listing
"My painting are interpretive and sensory, reflecting both the beauty of the subject and the beauty of the paint. Color, texture, and shape especially inspire me and I am challenged to capture the essence of the landscape or flower, or the personality of an animal. Painting primarily with a palette knife in an alla prima method, I enjoy both studio and plein air work.
Influenced in spirit by artists such as William Herring, Edgar Payne, Georgia O'Keefe, Gregory Kondos, and Jeanne Dobie, and in beuaty for beauty's sake by the elusive nature of beauty itself, I create with a sense of adventure to the journey found in each new painting.
I teach both privately and in group workshop settings my love of the study of composition, color, oil, watercolor, drawing and a variety of other things that are near and dear to the heart of every artist."
