Joyce Fournier's artist statement: Whether it is in the fjords of Norway, the cafes of Paris, the cathedrals of Russia or the serenity of Galloway cottage here in Ontario, I am constantly on the prowl for images that move me. My eyes are almost never at rest, as I wait in anticipation for just the right light or search for just the right vantage point. The lake at dawn as the mist rises, or the lake at dusk as the moon ascends can inspire artistic emotion in all of us. To partake in the dance of the poppies in my garden as they parade on their way, or the solitude of a single asiatic lily as it flutters in the June breeze. This is my inspiration and why I Paint.
