Working in Swansea,Wales,Paul Giuffrida is an abstract artist of Sicilian and Welsh descent who graduated from Cardiff Art College in 1979. Giuffrida's work reflects his fascination with the fabric of buildings and structures, the ageing process, surfaces weathered and worn through to their eventual decay - their history encapsulated. Mainly working in mixed media, the processes he uses involves staining, scratching and scoring the surfaces with incised lines that cut through, revealing what lies beneath.
