 Flight Pattern II Rita Dianni-Kaleel Online Art Listing Rita Dianni-Kaleel's artist statement: My reason for doing art is to visualize the intangible threads that unite us and as I work, the challenge presents a constant pursuit. Whether drawing, painting or sculpting, a finished piece develops after working directly with a subject, although many times the subject is suggested by the medium. The abstractions are shapes of nature and can emphasize the unseen, which intrigues me with any given subject matter. Working in this way I try to interpret these shapes visually. Each life form is a learning experience and also brings great appreciation for life on this planet. The line of gold leaf in much of my work represents the value of life and our link to the future. I am inspired by the beauty in nature, not only the exterior, but that which lives within; to focus on the preciousness of life, and to acknowledge we are uniquely the same and uniquely individual. |
