 The Coming Night Mark Brennan Online Art Listing Mark Brennan artist statement: My inspiration is all around me. My art and life is very much centred around the eco-philosophy of Deep Ecology combined with the mindfullness and compassion of Buddhism. They give me that real 'spiritual' connection to the earth that comes through in my paintings. I do attempt to convey a sense of hope for the environment but also try to bring the viewer to question their own life, and perhaps move them to lessen their impact on the earth. I have raised these issues also through abstract work. For the future I will continue painting the remaining wild areas of the earth, and hope to also focus more on understanding the human relationship to nature. I also try to stand as a voice in the environmental community when local issues arise. |
