An artist on a journey...

As long as Mary J. Duval can remember, she's had a pencil or a paintbrush or a camera in her hand. As a child, art was her chief method of self-expression, but as she grew up, the opportunity and time for that expression was replaced by the demands of the working world and then by those of raising a family.

Even with all the 'busy-ness' of living, she continually had some project or craft in the making. (There are a lot of acrylic painted birdhouses out there with her name on them!) A chance job in marketing and wonderful mentors who believed in her led her to pursue computer design over the past 15 years to the present.

While computer design is a wonderful, non-messy pursuit, (no clean-up) the loss of her father in 2003 (also a wonderful painter) led her back to her oil painting roots - and what a joy it has been for her to re-discover the feeling of having an idea in mind and creating it from start to finish in oils.

She is overwhelmed and excited at the artistic journey that lies ahead of her, and encouraged by the support of friends and loved ones. God Bless!
